In fact, I do more than just walking

There’s more to looking after a dog than walking it. Take a look at what else I can help with.

DBS checked

I get it, letting someone into your house whilst you’re not there is an odd feeling. That’s why, for your peace of mind, I’ve been DBS checked.

Fully insured

I’ve taken care of all the legal bits… If you would like to request proof of public liability insurance, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

BCCS certified

Everyday is a school day, so I enrolled at the British College of Canine Studies (BCCS) in 2019 to gain a professional dog walking certificate.

Qualified in canine first aid

I hope that this never has to be used, but should your dog get into any trouble in my care, I’m professionally certified in Canine First Aid.

👋 Hi, I’m Dave

“From a young age, dogs have always been a big part of my life, so it only felt a natural career to progress into…”

My story 📖

I am a trained City and Guilds joiner by trade, and moved into social housing in my mid 20s. I retrained during this time and went back to college to study, and achieved my HNC in Building Studies.

Over time I was promoted an eventually became an Operational Manager for the repairs and maintenance team at a local Housing Association. I recently decided it was time to get out of the office and try a change of direction.

My other passion in life has always been the outdoors and man’s best friend. I have always combined the two as a pastime, and now have successfully turned it into my business. My first dog was Dudley, a Labrador Cross Collie. Sadly he passed away and now I currently have 2 dogs, Pippin and Bolt. Bolt is a 5 year old Whippet Cross Bedlington and Pip is a 14 year old Fox Terrier Cross, both rescued.

Got a question?

It’s probably already been asked…

How much does it cost?

It all depends on how many dogs you have, the length of walk and if you need a hand with anything else. Take a look at our price list here.

Where do you walk my dog?

I have several regular routes, but it depends on where you live and if your dog travels well in the car!

If your dog gets a bit car sick or doesn’t socialise well with other dogs, I can start from your house and head somewhere similar to your usual route.

Otherwise, I tend to work out a route and discuss it with you.

What happens if they get muddy?

Your dog will get a quick shower and a towel down before being let back in.

Do you keep my key?

It’s entirely up to you. As standard, I take your key but won’t ever write your address on it.

If you would rather leave your key in a safe place, that’s fine too. I’ll of course keep it confidential. I can even help you fit a lock box if you prefer! Just ask.

How many dogs do you walk at once?

I’ll only ever take up to three dogs at a time. However, if your dog prefers to walk alone, that’s fine too – just be sure to let me know!

Are you qualified?

Yes, I’ve gained my Professional Cerificate in Dog Walking, awarded by the British College of Canine Studies as well as being fully trained in Canine First Aid.

Will I meet my dog walker?

Yes. I offer a free face-to-face initial meeting in order to understand your dog’s personality and needs.

This will also give you the chance to get to know me, and ask any questions you might have and find out how things work.

What do I do if I need to cancel?

Please contact me by email or telephone giving at least 48 hours notice, for no charges to apply.

Do you walk dogs off the lead?

It depends on what you want – but generally yes! If your dog is a little bit rusty on their recall then I can keep them on a long lead and let them run and play in safety.

We will only let your dog off lead once we have written consent and it is safe to do so.

Do you take holidays?

Yes, I do. I’ll always give you as much notice as possible before booking a holiday so you have time to prepare, and you can check my holidays here.

Where's the small print?

You can see all of our terms & conditions here.

Keep an eye on your dog 👀

Ever wonder what your dog gets up to when you’re not around? I like to think they have a secret life they don’t show you…

When they’re with me though, I’ll post pictures to Facebook & Instagram so you can keep up to date with their walks, how muddy they’re getting, who their friends are and what mischief they get into.
